08.01.10 – Update

Today the staff took Peter off of the sedatives in order to see if he can breathe on his own. He has been unresponsive, but we are not sure how much of that is due to the significant quantity of sedatives he has been given over the last three days. Peter was unable to breath on his own, so it looks like they will be doing a tracheotomy to help his breathing long-term.

This morning his left pupil was slightly more responsive to light then it has been and the intracranial pressure (ICP) went down very slightly. Continue to pray these will improve, and also pray that he will eventually be able to breathe on his own and wake up from the coma at the right time.

Thank you again for all of your prayers and support. We have been overwhelmed by God’s provision for us during this time and we have always had plenty of food here at the hospital to cover our needs. We also wanted to thank those of you who have shared stories of God’s faithfulness in similar situations in your lives. It has provided great encouragement.

Hope
