Monday Update

Nothing has changed today. No new response or movements different from yesterday. The doctors have said they will probably try to remove the stint in Peter’s brain because the longer it is in there the higher the risk of infection. At this point the pressure is under enough control that an infection would be worse than more pressure on his brain.

Right now we are trying to shift towards a more long-term mindset since Peter is in his own coma. I am not sure how much this has hit us yet, but we have not lost confidence in our God. We continue to read scripture to Peter and talk to him as we can and let him know he is never alone.

Here are the things you can keep praying for:

1) Pray against infection. This is always a critical concern.

2) Pray that the doctors and staff caring for Peter will have wisdom as they make some decisions about his care with a more long-term mindset.

3) Continue to pray for the family’s physical/emotional/spiritual health. We have a long road ahead.

4) Pray for healing in Peter’s body. Continue to pray that the pressure in his brain will be under control.

Some of you have asked where you can send notes to the family. You can send them to the following address:
1575 South Main
P3A ICU Room #309
Fort Worth, TX 76104

There have also been questions about donations for the medical bills. I will be sending out info on that in the next day or two.

I have also set up a blog so people who are not on facebook can read updates about Peter. It is not fully functioning yet (I hope to finish the setup tonight), but here is the link: https://prayforpeter.wordpress.com/

We appreciate your prayers so much. As we feel so loved through your prayers, we realize even more that our hope is not in the number of prayers ascending up to heaven on Peter’s behalf but our mighty God who hears those prayers. We know God may not choose to heal Pete, but we also know He is capable of restoring Pete to full health and will not cease to pray for that.

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him.’ The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:21-26

For the family,
