Tuesday Prayer Requests

Today the doctor’s plan is to remove the stint in Peter’s brain and adjust the sensor that is measuring the ICP. The sensor went out a couple of days ago and they have been unable to get accurate readings since then.

The outside of Peter’s face looks a lot better today. He also has a fairly high fever but other than that, there are no changes to his condition. Our family was able to get some good rest last night which is a definite praise.

Here are the main prayer concerns for today:

1) That as the doctors perform the procedure for the stint,  everything will go smoothly and also that God would protect Peter from infection in that area. Doing the procedure increases the risk of infection.

2) Continue to pray against pneumonia. From what I understand the risk of pneumonia is pretty high when you have a machine breathing for you, but more so on the ventilator vs. the trach. Since Peter has not been given a tracheotomy yet, this is still a big concern.

3) Continue to pray that Peter will be responsive when the nurses take him off sedation and perform other tests on him. They do this periodically throughout the day.

The family has also asked that for those of you who would like to come visit, that the last visiting take place during the 8:00-8:30 p.m. time slot in order for Peter and the family to get more rest. We appreciate that you come to see us, so feel free to come during the day.

We are grateful for all of you!

“Where can I go to get away from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Thy hand will lead me, and Thy right hand will lay hold of me. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night,’ even the darkness is not dark to Thee, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to Thee” (Psalm 139:7-12).
