Update on Peter’s Infection

The doctor’s have been unable to localize the infection and Peter’s white blood cell count is really high (which means his body is trying to fight whatever it is), even though he is on an antibiotic. They are taking cultures again, so please be praying that they can find the source of Peter’s infection. Thank you.

For the family, Hope

My son, Zac, hit a tree in December and received a traumatic brain injury. He was-and still is- only 20 years old so Peter really tugs at my heart. Zac was so seriously injured they had approached us about harvesting his organs. Today he is a college student.
I also have a neice who suffered a TBI about 10 years ago. Today she is a young wife and mother of two beautiful girls. She was in a coma for 3 months.
I am not trying to underplay the seriousness of TBI but just want to offer you some encouragement. I am praying for Peter and do sincerely hope that he wakes up very soon. You and your family will remain in my prayers.
    Your sister in Him,

Doug, Selah, and family…Thank you for letting us know about the infection. We are praying.
Selah, thanks for showing me the wedding photos. Also, thanks for sharing about Peter’s love for art and how he has used his gift to portray the Christ figures from books. What an awesome project.
It was such a blessing to hug each of your necks and to be with you. I have been thinking of you as I listen to a series on Philippians by Matt Chandler. In chapter 4 we are told to rejoice always, but how do we do that when a loved one is in pain or circumstances are just bad. Well, the mature believer cries for help, but also is able to rejoice and be at peace because he knows that the God who created the Universe, who knows each star by name, who created and holds each planet in place, who not only knows every cell and atom of our bodies, but created them, is in control. God knows how all the events before this time relate to now and how all the events in the future will be affected by the now. Deuteronomy 10:14 says, “Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it.” Then in Romans 11:33-36 it says, ” Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever.”
I see y’all acting as mature believers as you deal with all the realities of Peter’s accident. I see the peace of God guarding your hearts and minds as you let your minds rest on what is true. Even in the midst of missing and longing for Peter to be whole again, you are trusting in the sovereignty of your Lord and Creator. The very one who gave Peter life twice (physical and spiritual). The peace that y’all have is a peace that the world cannot understand, but those who love the Lord do. So, we cry out with you for Peter’s healing and trust with you that the one who loves Peter more than any of us, Peter’s Savior, Lord, friend, and creator, is in control and nothing is escaping His notice. He is using and will use all of this for His honor and glory.
Thank you for being examples of mature believers, those who are rejoicing always.

With much love and many prayers, Rebecca Davis or Dreyspring : )
